You know that moment when a group of people—friends, coworkers, even strangers—suddenly bursts into laughter over something completely ridiculous? That’s the moment I wanted to capture.
Hi, I’m Dennis Richardson, the creator of Odd Jobs. By day, I teach business, marketing, and graphic design at a rural college in eastern Washington. By night (and weekends), I build creative projects—games, ideas, and experiments.
Odd Jobs started as one of many ideas, but it quickly stood out. There was something special about watching people try to describe absurd mash-up occupations and hearing the room fill with laughter as others shouted guesses. It wasn’t just a game—it was a shared experience. The kind that breaks the ice, sparks creativity, and turns ordinary gatherings into something memorable.
This project is still growing, and right now, it’s a team of one—but I don’t see it that way for long. I’m actively building a community of playtesters, contributors, and collaborators who want to help shape the game. If you’ve ever enjoyed a great game night, laughed at something unexpectedly ridiculous, or just like being part of something creative, you’re already part of what makes this work.
